These Terms of Service apply to both sites operated by GolferX, Inc.: Clubfit.golf (free golf club fitting tools) and Golf Equipment Database (golfequipmentdatabase.com, our open equipment database). By using either site you agree to these terms. Contributions to the equipment database are additionally governed by the Contributor Terms, which control in the event of any conflict about contributions.
GolferX, Inc. participates in the affiliate program of 2nd Swing through the Awin affiliate network. When you click an affiliate link on our site and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Our recommendations are generated algorithmically based on your swing data. Affiliate relationships do not influence which products are recommended or their ranking.
Clubfit.golf is an educational tool that provides equipment recommendations based on the swing data you submit. It is not a substitute for a professional in-person club fitting. We make no guarantees regarding performance improvements from any recommended equipment. Individual results depend on many factors beyond equipment selection.
Equipment specifications in the database and product prices reflect manufacturer or contributor data at the time of listing and may change or contain errors. The database is community-maintained and provided “as is”; availability of any product is subject to each retailer's inventory.
The tools are free. In exchange, the launch-monitor measurements from fittings you run are anonymized — stripped of any name, email, or account — and pooled to improve our recommendation models for all golfers. This anonymized use is part of using the service; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is stored and how. Because the records carry no identifier, they cannot be traced back to you or individually deleted. Once anonymized, this pooled data is owned by GolferX, Inc. and may be retained and used to operate and improve our services and — only in aggregated or derived form(statistical insights, benchmarks, and trained models) — commercialized or licensed to third parties. We do not sell or license individual, record-level observations as standalone data. This commercial use applies to measurements collected on or after September 2026.
The source code for our sites is published under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0-or-later), and the equipment datasets are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. Your rights to the code and the data are governed by those licenses. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights those licenses grant you, and nothing in those licenses grants any right in GolferX trademarks or in the private, anonymized learning corpus, which is not published.
The fitting engine, the database structure and its editorial layer, and our educational content are owned by GolferX, Inc. and licensed as described above. Product names, brands, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only. “Clubfit,” “Clubfit.golf,” “Golf Equipment Database,” “GolferX,” and our logos are trademarks of GolferX, Inc. and are not licensed by the open-source or open-data licenses.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GolferX, Inc. is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of either site, reliance on the equipment data, or the purchase of recommended products.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
